When the light shines across

'As you get closer to the light, your shadow will get bigger'

When the light shines towards you, do you shun it, or do you embrace it? Perhaps the reason why people choose to shun it is because when light is shined directly towards you, you are unable to open your eyes to really see what's in it for you. As the light gets closer, your shadow gets bigger. The darkness gets darker. In other words? The more you dream of, the more you hope for, the more it seems unlikely to be achieved. You starts to ask yourself, if this is really the road you really should embark on. You starts to ask yourself what if the destination is not where you wanna be. For people who believes in any religion, do you really think that your God/gods/deities/whatever will let you take the path you should not be taking in the first place meh? That is of course assuming that you trust in your religion a lot lah. For the free thinkers out there, what you become arises from what you believe. Open thy eyes and face the light. There's a path there, and though the shadow is behind you and it gets bigger as you move closer to the path the light is showing, it'll be gone once you reach there. The question now is that would you be brave enough to embark on this journey?

To me, such a journey is a journey of self discovery. To me, going forward for a dream and what you believe is this exact journey. The light is shining too bright ahead of me, and it's up to me to see if I can open my eyes to see the path leading to it. I do see my shadow, and perhaps it's growing ever so fast that it may engulf me into its eternal darkness. So what is that darkness anyway? To me, it's the obstacles that are blocking us all along, be it our terrible past experiences, our critics, whatever unfavourable conditions we might be experiencing now... they all add darkness into the path. It's inevitable, since where there is light, there is darkness, and light shines the brightest during the darkest moment. And there is no shame in facing the darkness behind you, as long as you are strong enough to embrace the light (oh, I sound like I'm preaching). In 'Kingdom Hearts' (the game in which the blog you are reading now is based on), it is said that darkness exists in everyone's heart. Therefore, it's just your decision whether to walk into the light or accept the darkness in your heart, which will eventually consume your heart.

There is this saying, with every fight you engage in, you are fighting to overcome yourself, and not anyone else. With the analogy of light and darkness I just delivered, it should make sense. Hope my readers, especially some of them... you know who you are, can comprehend this.
