Finally

Finally, after a night of frustration and hanging and cursing (this part is a joke), I'm finally able to log into this stupid blogger server to write something. It's one thing having writer's block, but it's another when you have the inspiration and the server just refuse to budge and let you in to write to your heart's content. I was actually reading Joshua the other day when I came across this particular verse: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9 What striked me even more is that in just the first chapter of Joshua, the reader was told by God to be strong and courageous for more than 3 times. It was quite a strong reminder, especially when the new semester is coming and when we will be out in the field reaping the harvest for God. I'm sure it wasn't a coincidence when I found this verse when I was having PnF yesterday: This

Morphling

I've been experimenting with various DotA heroes for the past few days. For those who dun know, DotA is a map in the game Frozen Throne and it stands for Defence of the Ancients. Basically you choose a hero, choose your own item and skill build and go out and whack the enemies. You either own the enemies, or you get owned by them. Two sides you can choose, the Sentinels or the Scourge. Heroes I have experimented so far are Rogueknight, Death Prophet, Twin-headed Dragon, Skeleton King, Lifestealer, Lightning Revenant, Phantom Assassin, Stone Giant, Dragon Knight and Morphling. Particularly fun to use are Death Prophet and Morphling, although using PA or RK can be quite satisfying if you keep getting the kills. (PS: but dun come and challenge me, I'm a half noob, not even semi pro yet) These days people are getting crazy over DotA. Honestly, this is something I most likely will not get to play once school starts over again. This coming semester may be another exciting semester ah

Maybe next time

Now that the World Cup has ended in an unexpectedly yet disappointing way, I decided to take some time to reflect on some issues that are unrelated to the World Cup. After all, it's over and my mind can focus on other stuffs. That day I was sharing my conversion story with another helper in the MPS, after we dwelled into the topic of Christianity. Just now I was reading a booklet called 'Why Jesus' by Nicky Gumbel and came across this section which talks about the excuses people made when other people shared the gospel with them. Practically speaking, it's something like people giving you a free gift and you come out with all sort of reasons to reject the offer. 'I dun need God' A lot of people will tell you that they dun need God in their life. That they are happy with their life and they dun see a reason why they need God. Some felt that they can make it thru their own. I used to think like that too. In fact, although I can readily accept that there's a G

Something I found in my email today

The older I get, the more I enjoy Saturday mornings.Perhaps it's the quiet solitude that comes with being the first to rise, or maybe it's the unbounded joy of not having to be at work.Either way, the first few hours of a Saturday morning are most enjoyable. A few weeks ago, was shuffling toward the kitchen with a steaming cup of coffee in one hand and the morning paper in the other. What began as a typical Saturday morning turned into one of those lessons that life seems to hand you from time to time.Let me tell you about it.I turned the volume up on my radio in order to listen to a Saturday morning talk show. I heard an older sounding chap with a golden voice. You know the kind, he sounded like he should be in the broadcasting business himself. He was talking about "a thousand marbles"to someone named "Tom." I was intrigued and sat down to listen to what he had to say. "Well, Tom, it sure sounds like you're busy with your job.I'm sure they pay yo

My take

It sometimes amazed me how people blindly put their faith in England, banking on them beating Portugal. Likewise, some people also blindly said that Germany will be thrashed out of the world cup by Argentina and now people are saying that Italy will thrash out Germany. Also, people were heard saying that Brazil will win France blah blah blah. I personally have said that I was banking on either Germany, Argentina or Brazil to eventually win the World Cup. But when it came to Brazil vs France, I can't help but hope that Brazil will lose to France though I was pragmatic enough to know that the chance was small enough. Thank God that France was able to keep Brazil at bay with its amazing soccer. The final lineup of the semi finals is what I have predicted: Germany vs Italy, Portugal vs France. So far, my predictions since the 2nd round has never been found at the wrong side. But then, no one ever seems to believe in my judgement. France 98 saw the final between Brazil vs France. I said
