Morphling
I've been experimenting with various DotA heroes for the past few days. For those who dun know, DotA is a map in the game Frozen Throne and it stands for Defence of the Ancients. Basically you choose a hero, choose your own item and skill build and go out and whack the enemies. You either own the enemies, or you get owned by them. Two sides you can choose, the Sentinels or the Scourge. Heroes I have experimented so far are Rogueknight, Death Prophet, Twin-headed Dragon, Skeleton King, Lifestealer, Lightning Revenant, Phantom Assassin, Stone Giant, Dragon Knight and Morphling. Particularly fun to use are Death Prophet and Morphling, although using PA or RK can be quite satisfying if you keep getting the kills. (PS: but dun come and challenge me, I'm a half noob, not even semi pro yet) These days people are getting crazy over DotA. Honestly, this is something I most likely will not get to play once school starts over again.
This coming semester may be another exciting semester ahead. With the Alpha programme coming to an end, here comes the bidding and the timetable planning and all the readings, essays and projects that come along with it. The modules which I have planned to take, after putting in some consideration are:
HY2217 War and Society
HY2243 Film and History
HY2465 Intro to World History
MNO1001 Management and Organisation
TR2202 Technological Innovation
All the mod seems to be project intensive and essay intensive, and seems to be reading intensive as well. It's esp so for HY2217, knowing who's the lecturer, I'm not gonna be surprised by this sem's workload. I did consider taking a level 3000 HY mod after some advice from RB but it seems that none of them interests me that much other than history of strategic thoughts, but I'm not so interested in Sun Tze at this moment right now. I have been considering the route which I wanna specialise in during my tenure in NUS and it seems that World and military history is the route, or more particularly, it's the history of world interaction since 1789. Whoa... how interesting. And of course, also towards the unthinkable combination with my minor: the technopreneurship programme.
Lately it has been quite a reflective period for me. As what all the other old birds have said, the matric period and the Alpha would be a time when all our true characters show and will be a time when our selfs will be put into the furnace to be tested and refined by God. Upon being pointed out at by QP and some reflections, these verses came into my mind:
Indeed, it takes no genius to see that I'm actually quite a short tempered guy. It may not be obvious but it seems that I have the tendency to snap when things get overwhelmed. Well, guess it's time to go back to the basics and learn from Jesus and find rest in His soul.
Sometimes, I think God uses physics to illustrate certain things in life. I was reading some of my manga just now and I came across this scene where two characters were sparring with each other, one with the power of fire and one with the power of ice, something like Pyro vs Iceman, but a bit different though. Both gave in their best and eventually the one with the power of fire won. The reason why the fire was able to win against the ice is because of the disparity between fire and ice. For ice, no matter how cold the ice can be, the coldest it can get is at a temperature of -273.15°C, in thermodynamic term, it means absolute zero, 0 K. So there's a limit for coldness. However for fire, there is no limit as in how hot the fire can burn. This sort of reflect coldness and passion. Somehow or rather, no matter how cold or disinterested a person can get over God, somehow or rather, if someone who is unlimitedly fervor and passionate appears, his passion is bound to melt away the coldness of the other's heart. Cos there's only that cold a person can get, but there's no limit to the passion his counterpart possess.
The Alpha camp reminded me of something called the Trinity. Certainly not new to me and a lot of my readers. But Clara mentioned about the triple point of existence for water, and since I'm in the topic of physic now (which is quite rare), I just checked it out. It seems that every matter has a triple point of existence, where its liquid state, solid state and gaseous state can co-exist together. In physics, the triple point of a substance is the temperature and pressure at which three phases (gas, liquid, and solid) of that substance may coexist in thermodynamic equilibrium.For example, the triple point temperature of mercury is at -38.8344 °C, at a pressure of 0.2 mPa. The triple point of water is used to define the kelvin, the SI unit of thermodynamic temperature. The number given for the temperature of the triple point of water is an exact definition rather than a measured quantity. The single combination of pressure and temperature at which water, ice, and water vapour can coexist in a stable equilibrium occurs at exactly 273.16 kelvins (0.01 °C) and a pressure of 611.73 pascals (ca. 6 millibars, .006037 Atm). At that point, it is possible to change all of the substance to ice, water, or steam by making infinitesimally small changes in pressure and temperature. (Note that the pressure referred to here is the vapor pressure of the substance, not the total pressure of the entire system.)
Confused? After reading the 'all-emcompassing' wikipedia, I felt confused too. But this is exactly what's written. And that's what it means by Trinity - God existing in one person as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, except that He dun need these exact condition to live in, since He is the one who created these environment...
After confusing my readers, I think it's time to get back to the drawing board, to see how I should improve upon my plan for this coming semester.
