Bidding time

Have been dormant in terms of blogging these days. Quite true, since I'm still suffering from a certain writer's block, and it seems that nowadays, when I want to post some meaningful post, it tend to take me 2 weeks of thinking through before I can actually type it down. But then, think once school reopens, should expect quite a lot of thoughts coming in.

I was thinking about my own bidding for tomorrow, other than going sing KTV and going for my guitar lessons at Believer Music. Before I carry on, yes, I am currently taking a beginner's class in Believer Music. For those who are curious, I just want to say that the more I learn about guitar and worship, the more I realise that I dun know a lot, and I have to admit that all these while, other than the occasional lessons (last time) with QP, and some tips from people like Weizhu and Jan, I have sort of tried figured out the guitar by myself. Limit as I am, it turns out that my fundamental may be too weak for me to proceed,…

HY4207

This semester I had wanted to take HY4207, Special Paper in Military History, but I think the class is full since I can't bid it in the CORS... and I can't find it in the list of level 4000 history modules...

That is the module that I would trade for anything to get it (within my own biblical boundaries of course)...

I pray to God that I will get that module, man...

Think will have to wait till round 3 and see if there is any hope... dun know that Farrell's mod is so popular...

God changes lives

I was talking to an old friend online and she mentioned something which quite amazed me...

God changes lives

Considering last time we used to mock about God... well... it really does make sense... indeed, it makes sense cos it's a fact.

God changes lives.

When we allow Jesus to come into our lives to be the leader of our lives, He will really changes our live. It is said in the bible that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come.

God changes lives.

Living as a student: Rat

Rat. According to dictionary.com, one definition is that it's a slang for scoundrel, as well as a person who abandons or betrays his or her party or associates, esp. in a time of trouble. And rats run race.

According to wikipedia.com, a Rat Race is a term used for an endless, self-defeating or pointless pursuit. It conjures up the image of the futile efforts of a lab rat trying to escape whilst running around a maze or in a wheel. In an analogy to the modern city, many rats in a single maze run around making a lots of noise bumping into each other, but ultimately achieve nothing (meaningful) either collectively or individually.

According to Lily Tomlin, the trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.

In the life of a student, especially in Singapore, it is inevitable that we succumb ourselves to the rat race. It is evident, in the non-forgiving educational system, that students run their own rat race, quite subtle though. While studying in secondary s…

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark

One : Don't miss the boat.

Two : Remember that we are all in the same boat.

Three : Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.

Four : Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really
big.

Five : Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

Six : Build your future on high ground.

Seven : For safety's sake, travel in pairs.

Eight : Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

Nine : When you're stressed, float a while.

Ten : Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

Eleven : No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting...

Pass this along and make someone else smile, too.

Living as a student: Vision

A long time ago, I remembered there was this question (and we were debating it quite ferociously in the IVLE community). It was a question asking what should a Hope Church member in NUS or the uni ministry be like. I debated, and many others too. This was my reply:

Some questions this Robert is asking. Then again, let's try to answer it

A NUS HOPE Christian

Number 1, identity wise, as NUS Hope Christians, we are Christians who just happened to be studying in NUS.

Number 2, mission wise, as a result of number 1, we have a mission by God - to fulfill the Great Commission in NUS, to try to spread the gospel to as much people as we can reach out to.

Number 3, what we sought to achieve, as a result of number 1 and 2, we strive to not only expand God's Kingdom by fulfilling the Great Commission, but also committed to being salt and light within our NUS social circle, being able to impact whoever we meet in NUS.

Number 4, as a result of number 1 also, studying in NUS means that we are also…
